SQL Server - SQL Server Express - Problem?

Hi,
I use SQL Server Express Edition at work. I have the application installed
on my local hard drive, and use it to connect & query the company servers.
However, when I try and connect the application just hags, and I have to
Task-Manager . This is when I am signed onto the work network.
I removed & re-installed SSMSEE but the problem persists. However, when I
sign onto the PC as an administrator (and not on the network) I can connect
to the server OK?
Has anyone any idea what the problem might be?
Many thanks......Jason

One thing that can cause SSMS to hang when attempting to connect is when the
SQL Server service is not running. Using SQL Server Configuration Manager,
confirm that the service status is running. You can also configure the Start
Mode to Automatic, meaning that the service will start whenever you boot up
your PC, so you won't have to manually start it. I'm guessing that the Start
Mode is configured differently depending on what profile you boot up your PC
under.
MSDE on Windows 2003 R2 box, new DL385G6 - Install Fails during SQL Services SQL Server I have been finding that I am having trouble with the Crystal Reports Server XI installation failing when it is dealing with SQL. So, as a thought and in case there was something wrong with my SQL portion of the isntall. I thought ok, I will try installing the actual MSDE application direct from Microsoft. So, I downloaded the MSDE for SQL 2000 (which is msde2000a.exe), set my switches and off to the races. It quit seconds left to the installation and bombed with the same errors as the Crystal Reports Server install. The error is the same whether I try to install MSDE by itself or
